A Lichen a Day — 4 December 2020

Sorry about missing yesterday. We had a sick dog that had us up a chunk of the night then needed a vet visit and I was just too beat to get on the computer and look at pictures. She seems at least to be feeling better today.

Today’s lichen:

Black and white photo of a patch of cuppy lichen on the ground

Basic stats:

  • Shot taken 28 November 2020
  • Device: DSC-HX400V
  • ISO 200
  • 1/40 sec. f 4.5
  • focal length 15mm

This is another unedited beyond posting compression photo. Took it in the black-and-white mode of the camera. Most of the ground-growing lichen across the road where I shot this is the spiky type that grows in big dense patches, so stumbling over this ground-growing patch of a cuppy type was a surprise. I didn’t move any ground or leaves or anything either.
